Miss Grant Goes to the Door
- Synopsis
- A dramatised account of a fictional encounter between a German spy and two sisters, Caroline and Edith Grant, designed to show what precautions can be taken to hinder any infiltration or invasion by the enemy. The German spy, disguised as a British officer, calls at the Grant cottage with news of invasion. His identity is revealed when he mispronounces a place-name, whereupon Caroline holds him at gun-point (the gun belongs to a German paratrooper who has just died on the Grant’s doorstep) whilst Edith goes for help to the ARP station. Once the spy has been captured, the Grants are complimented on their behaviour and are given advice by a Local Defence Volunteer for any future similar occasion. From a story by Thorold Dickinson and Donald Bull.*
