Metafolliculina Andrewsi ('Ciliata’): Reproduction
- Synopsis
- 'Metafolliculina andrewsi’ is a characteristic representative of the folliculinids. The species is characterised by a long-necked, spiral test, an unusual capacity for extension, and extremely long peristomal lobes. The film demonstrates the essential phases of the life-cycle of this species: behaviour within a colony, unequal cell division with constriction of the gemmi, the attachment and construction of a new test. An Encyclopaedia Cinematographica film.*
