Synopsis
Describes the operation of 21 different basic mechanisms which are driven from a single motor. These are: gears (spur, level, spiral, epicyclic, worm, rack and pinion), flat and vee belts, roller chain, flexible driveshaft, Hookes joint and Oldham’s coupling, harmonic drive, winch and pulleys, ratchet, cam, crank and rocket, slider crank and over-centre linkages, brake, and Geneva indexing mechanism.
