Mechanical Engineering Production Techniques, Tape 1 (4 Parts)

Synopsis
A series of video programmes on the manufacture of components. The material shows actual (not idealised) practice, giving a realistic impression of both the process and industry. The series assumes no prior knowledge of engineering yet covers techniques which even experienced engineers may not have seen.
1 (1986): Introduces the basic machine tools found in any workshop, e.g. lathes, milling machine, drill, saws and shapers; their cutting action and typical applications.
2 (1986): As well as showing many CNC and NC machines, this programme ingtroduces both manual and interactive programming.
3 (1985): Covers a wide range of abrasive processes: cylindrical grinding (internal and exgternal), surface grinding, protable grinders, lapping, sawing, tumbling and grit blasting.
4 (1982): Introduces group technology using low-cost machines.
