McLibel: Two Worlds Collide

Synopsis
A record of the ‘McLibel’ trial, in which Helen Steel and Dave Morris were sued for libel by the McDonald’s restaurant chain over accusations about the company’s policies towards animals, manipulation of children via its advertising, and pay and conditions for employees. Filmed over three years, it uses interviews with witnesses and reconstructions (directed by Ken Loach) to examine the main issues in the trial - nutrition, advertising, employment, animals, environment - as well as the implications for freedom of speech.
