Synopsis
The German-born artist Max Ernst (1891-1976) was a leading member of the surrealist movement, and his later work continued to combine technical experimentation with vivid fantasy. This film celebrates Ernst’s ‘seditious’ fusion of ‘madness and history’ in varied forms throughout his career. Contains extensive interview footage with Ernst himself.
