Synopsis
Examines how ideas relating to algebra are taught to children in the 5-17 age range in UK schools. Examines a variety of teaching styles in six classroom-based sequences. Programme originated for the 7th International Congress for Mathematics Education in Quebec City, Canada, in August 1992, in association with the Royal Society. The main mathematical points which are made in the programme have been subtitled in English.
