Synopsis
Using models, shows the three important stages of crystal structure that occur in metallic substances: hcp, fcc and bcc. Discusses alloy structures and transitions between different structures in a hot alloy. With reference to the periodic table, discusses the range of ionic bonds that can form. Describes the structure of polymeric molecules which are dependent upon co-valent bonding.
