Mars (2 Parts)

Synopsis
1 (producer Sam Roberts): Explores recent developments in the search for life on Mars. Recent images possible sedimentary rock formations there, suggesting that parts of Mars had once been covered by water, and if that was the case, bacteria may have once lived and may still live there. A meteorite that originated on Mars arouses much speculation. Experts, including Professor Bill Hartman, are divided.
2) (producer Suzanne Levy): Looks at the numerous complications involved in a manned mission to Mars, ranging from the potential physical damage inflicted on travellers by their zero-gravity environs to the psychological pressures presented by over 96m miles in space over 30 months.
