Synopsis
Explores the life and work of Russian painter and printmaker Marc Chagall (1887-1985), who spent most of his long working life in France. Looks at his work through the eyes of a young painter whose curiosity is aroused when he discovers he is living in Chagall’s former studio. The film, made shortly before the artist’s death, reflects on the artistic achievement which began in Paris in the 1920s.
