Looks at the six types of secondary processing of materials to turn them into finished products: making a basic size and shape (casting and moulding, forming, separating), changing properties (conditioning), putting parts together (assembling), and completing the product (finishing). Also examines properties of manufacturing materials: mechanical, physical, thermal, chemical, electrical, opetical, acoustical.
