A is for Autism

Synopsis
Animated documentary focusing on autistic children and adults who relate their experiences of growing up autistic. Based on drawings by people with autism, the medium of animation allows the collaborators to present a subjective description of the world, which can appear to them very skewed. The group also performs the music and their comments and conversations provide the narration. Participants include Temple Grandin, the American woman who coached Dustin Hoffman for his role in RAIN MAN. Sleeve notes by Professor Elizabeth Newson of the Child Development Unit, University of Nottingham.
