Man at High Altitude
- Synopsis
- Shows how a man acclimatizes and how many animal species adapt to high altitude. Looks at the body build of the Quechua Indians and at their biologically successful life in the Andes, contrasted with the troublesome ascent of sea-level man to the mountains. The risky nature and treatment of high altitude pulmonary oedema are shown. Includes a rare sequence of the features of Monge’s disease or chronic mountain sickness.
