- Although Malta is industrialised, the social life of the community revolves around the church just as it did in rural Europe before the Industrial Revolution. Centres around eleven episodes that show the various aspects of daily life in Naxxar, a Maltese village, exploring such aspects as church, women in public, the local cafe, and local political groups.
