Making a Stretcher

Synopsis

Shows how to make a strainer/stretcher - how to choose the timber, measure up, cut the mitred joints, how to glue and pin corner joints, how to lap the bracing centre pieces and how to cut the joints. Discusses the techniques and demonstrates the guillotine and radial arm saw, covering the safety checks and reminding the viewers that they need individual training before they can use them themselves.
