- Synopsis
- Explores issues raised when an offence such as murder is committed by a severly disturbed person and how there is a growing conflict between psychiatry and the law. Looks at the case of a schizophreniac who killed her mother and the court accepted the psychiatrist’s evidence. But in the case of the ‘Yorkshire Ripper’ Peter Sutcliffe, psychiatric evidence was in effect disregarded.
