Synopsis
LOCOMOTION (1975, 15 min), produced by Geoffrey Jones, presents a chronology of British railway history and made to commemorate the 150th anniversity of the Stockton and Darlington railway, the world’s first steam-hauled passenger railway.
RAIL (1965-7, 14 min), produced by Edgar Anstey, shows the modernisation that took place in the 1960s - steam to diesel and electrac traction.
SNOW (1963-4, 8 min), produced by Edgar Anstey, shows rail travel in bad weather. It is one of the first examples of a film using electronics in its sound track.
