Synopsis

A A CD-ROM based simulator for training in lighting design for film and television, allowing practice in four different virutual studios. Practice exercises help the user to work out solutions alone, choosing from a great number of lamps, positions and angles. Each studio has a control board with 40 faders in which the strengh of the lighting can be adjusted for each lamp. The user always works in real time, changing between colours and black-and whit in order to get a clear picture of how light and shade are created. Practical exercises include a programme host, two people in an interview, and the final scene of Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House’. An interactive handbook contains chapters on the nature and theory of light, and on equipment.
