- Synopsis
- Two 25-minute programmes about the drug Ecstasy and, in particular, the life and tragic death of 17-year-old Daniel Ashton. 1) The Drama: Daniel Ashton wrote a play for his GCSE drama course about a teenager who dies in a nightclub after taking Ecstasy. Within a few months Daniel himself died in similar circumstances. This drama, written by Paula Milne, tells the story behind Daniel’s play. 2) The Documentary: Intercut with information about how and why Daniel died, young people relate their own experiences with Ecstasy, and those working at the sharp end of the drugs culture explain its effects.
