Life Cycle of the Malaria Parasite

Synopsis
Consists entirely of animated drawings, with colours reproducing the translucent pastel shades seen under the microscope in preparations stained with Leishman’s or Giesma’s stain. The life history is traced from the introduction of sporozoites by an infected mosquito, through the stages in the liver to the appearance of forms in the blood, their schizogony, the formation of gametocytes, and the subsequent cycle in the mosquito. The distinguishing features of the four species causing human malaria are shown.
