Life Cycle of ‘Rhizophydium Sphaerotheca’
- Synopsis
- The development of the fungus on nutrient agar is followed. The posteriorly uniflagellate zoospores are seen swimming, shortly followed by their encystment. The zoospore cyst enlarges and the rhizoidal system is seen to proliferate, discharge papillae develop, the cytoplasm differentiates into zoospores which are active within the sporangium. The final sequence shows the release of the zoospores through a discharge papilli.
