Liberation

Synopsis
Interweaves the history of World War 2 with the story of the Holocaust. Beginning in 1942, the film combines archive footage, period music and radio broadcasts collected from archives around the world to illuminate the strategies and deceptions of the combatants on all sides - from America’s and Britain’s Home Front to wartime London, Moscow and Washington DC and occupied Paris to Berlin. Includes footage of Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin, de Gaulle and the Nazi leaders. Interwoven throughout are stories of the Jews of Europe, illustrating that while Hitler was losing the war on the Allied Front, the Nazis were winning their war against the Jews and other innocent victims of the Holocaust. The film reaches its climax with the liberation of Paris, the Benelux countries, and the death camps, through to V-E day.
