Arts for Health: The Use of Arts in the Hospital Environment
- Synopsis
- Arts for Health is a body that seeks to encourage those involved in health care to commission the work of artists and designers in order to enrich the hospital environment and the lives of patients, staff and visitors. The slides show ‘before and after’ scenes of hospitals where Arts for Health has been involved: patients enjoying performance art, patients and staff involved in creative activities, and the finished art works they accomplish. The text describes the history of the movement from its inception to the setting up of the National Arts for Health Centre at Manchester Polytechnic in 1988.
