- Synopsis
- Records the work of restoration of Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and Saint John the Baptist’, undertaken by Eric Harding following serious damage by gunshot in 1987. In doing so, shows the methods of of a modern conservator, the difficult decisions that have to be faced and the efforts made to preserve such works in previous centuries. Also shows Leonardo’s work close up, particularly his modelling of figures and drapery.
