Synopsis
In September 1984 Leonard Bernstein conducted for the first time a complete performance of his 1957 musical ‘West Side Story’, based on the Romeo and Juliet theme. Using multiple cameras, this documentary records the highly charged emotions of the five days of rehearsal and recording. Features Kiri Te Kanawa, José Carreras and Tatiana Troyanos.
