Lenin’s Russia

Synopsis
Uses film from the Pathè archive showing Russia in the years before, during, and after the Revolution, ending with Lenin’s funeral in 1924, but the sequences are used not to tell the historical story of the period, but to raise questions about the way in which newsreel film can provide useful historical evidence.
