Lawyers (6 Parts)

Synopsis
For the first time ever in Britain a television documentary crew filmed solicitors and barristers at work with their clients, following 14 cases from 10 legal practices over the course of a year, from the first meeting between client and lawyer to the conclusion of the case. The cases range from a murder to an unfair dismissal, with total access being granted to client meetings in offices, in barristers’ chambers, in cells beneath courts and in prisons. Unique access has also been gained ot both sides of several cases: prosecution and defence in the murder case and plaintiff and respondent in a Social Services Care Order with both solicitors and barristers. Each programme cuts between three cases with story lines running from one programme to the next.
