Laura Knight (1877-1970)
- Synopsis
- Laura Knight tells her story through radio and film interviews recorded in her lifetime; it is illustrated by her paintings. Her favourits subjects were the ballet, gypsies and the circul. During World War 2 her particular brand of realism led to her appointment as a war artist. Caroline Fox, Laura Knight’s biographer, guides the viewer through places influential to her paintings: the Goose Fair in Nottihgham and the coastal villages of Staithes and Newlyn.
