Synopsis

The package provides a selection of cartoonists’ graphic images designed to examine the fortunes of the Labour Party between 1951 and 1964. Cartoons drawn for the major newspapers and opinion-forming journals are compared and contrasted to present a picture of the power struggles and schisms which plagued the Labour Party during its thirteen years in opposition.
