Korean War, The: 1950-1953

Synopsis
Uses contemporary newsreel footage with original commentary and soundtrack, but without any additional commentary, to show the British newsreels’ coverage of the Korean War, illustrating its political complexity. For audiences in Britain the events of this war were remote, both physically and psychologically. This, coupled with the British government’s ambivalence towards the situation, presented the newsreel organisations with a nubmer of dilemmas and organisational challenges.
