Synopsis

Gives a simplified explanation of the operation of a two-cavity klystron amplifier. Animated sequences illustrate the operation of the cavity resonators, the bunching of electrons and the amplifying action of the klystron. Although an elementary knowledge of electronics is necessary, the film is suitable for audiences having no knowledge of klystrons or microwave techniques.
