Kgb - The Early Years
- Synopsis
- The KGB had its beginning at the start of the Bolshevik movement. This video explores the formation of the Cheka - the All Russia Extraordinary Commission for Fighting Counter-Revolution and Sabotage - by Felix Dherzhinsky and the wave of Red Terror that followed. Political assassinations, secret disappearances and rigged trials are perfected as the Bolsheviks consolidate power. Also featured is rare footage, recently released from the Central Russian Archive, of Felix Dherzhinsky’s funeral - the last time the leaders of the Revolution would be seen together.
