Ken Yeang: Bioclimatic Skyscrapers

Alternative title
Bioclimatic Skyscrapers (Ice)
Synopsis
Ken Yeang and his partner Robert Hamzah formed their partnership in the 1970s in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their attention has been focused on tall buildings, and their research has led to the emergence of what they call ‘bioclimatic skyscrapers’ - energy-efficient enclosures. By carefully shaping and positioning the various elements, selecting appropriate materials and systems, and by relating to the local climate - adding vegetation wherever possible, they design low-energy buildings. All their buildings - mostly office towers - are in Asia and exemplify their principles.
