- Synopsis
- Shows how municipal authorities in Katowice, Poland, have joined forces with the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat) to look at ways of improving health conditions and making it a more sustainable city. Currently 20% of the surrounding land is unfit for agriculture, two-thirds of the water supply is too contaminatated even for industrial use, and the area has the highest infant mortality in the whole of Poland.
