Johnnie’s Boys
- Synopsis
- Painter and illustrator John Minton, remembered by Bobby Hunt and Owen ‘Oska’ Wood, two of his students at Camberwell Art College at the end of World War 2. Rich and well-educated, Minton introduced his young proteges to the Bohemian life of post-war London, to other painters and writers, to Soho pubs and clubs, and to continental life and culture. Hunt and Wood remember their friend and mentor with affection and provide revealing insights into Minton’s complex character. They also attempt to explain his later decline and tragic early death.
