John Winter: Restoring ‘Modern’ ‘30s Houses
- Synopsis
- Architect John Winter, who has been restoring 1930s modern-style houses in England that have fallen into disrepair, describes the sort of problems that confront him and how he has dealt with them in six of the best-known houses. Often it is to do with materials used which have ceased to exist, or with the carbonating of thin concrete walls, or lack of weathering, or the rusting of ungalvanised steel window frames.
