John Bull’s Hearth
- Synopsis
- A propaganda film for tariff reform. John Bull is visited by a Frenchman, a sea captain, a Russian trader and an American. The visitors take all the available chairs and chat amongst themselves leaving John Bull standing. A colonial enters carrying a picture of Joseph Chamberlain and, seeing the seated men, snatches down the placard above the mantelpiece which reads ‘Free Trade’ and replaces it with another reading ‘Fair Trade’.*
