Issues of Race and Culture in Counselling Settings
- Synopsis
- Made for use in training where the complex implications of race and culture are being considered within the counselling interview. Trainers may select appropriate and specific scenes relevant to the needs of their trainees.
Six short role-play scenes, each about 10 minutes long, designed to stimulate discussion in training groups. The persons featured all have knowledge of and experience in the counselling process. The first 3 scenes demonstrate a ‘helping’ relationship where the client and counsellor are from different cultural and/or racial origins, the latter 3 present ‘same-race’ pairings. - Language
