Irish Nationalism and Unionism in the Twentieth Century

Synopsis
A discussion between Paul Bew of Queen’s University, Belfast and A C Hepburn of the New University of Ulster. Side 1 covers the end of the Union and the War of Independence of 1919-1921. Side 2 looks at Ireland since 1921; the development of the South from free state to republic and the North from devolution to direct rule. The speakers attempt to isolate some of the underlying forces which have led to both unity and division in Ireland.
