Synopsis
A three-part teaching package covering 1) how a mass spectrometer works; 2) interpreting mass spectra (isotope patterns, fragmentation patterns and the peaks produced by metastable ions); 3) fragmention patterns of common compounds including ketones, ethers, esters, amides and peptides. Suitable for self-paced open learning or as part of a lecture course. Approximately one hour of teaching material.
