Architecture and People

Synopsis
The most criticised aspect of the recent work of the architectural profession has been mass public housing. From the 1930s onwards architects have imposed grandiose theories about how people should live in their housing designs. The programme shows how this came about and looks at the work of Strathclyde University’s ‘ASSIST’ group of architects who argue that a more human solution to housing needs can be achieved.
