- Synopsis
- Looks at some of the most influential buildings of the 1980s including the Humana Building in Louisville by Michael Graves, the neighbouring American Life Building by Mies Van der Rohe, Arata Isozaki’s work on the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles, Richard Rogers’ Lloyd’s Insurance Building in London and Norman Foster’s Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank. Looks at Paris where political will is shaping a project to celebrate the bicentenary of the French Revolution, which involves the building of three new museums, an opera house, a concert hall, a Franco-Arab institute and a modern communications institute.
