Intelligent Knowledge Based Systems and the Man-Machine Interface
- Synopsis
- Intelligent knowledge based-systems and the man-machine interface are the two areas singled out in the Alvey Report for research and development. An intelligent knowledge-based system aims to condense the knowledge and experience of individual experts into a computer program that could make deductions as good as, and usually considerably more reliable than, its human counterpart. The man-machine interface program is to develop more natural means of dialogue between man and computer. The programme concludes with a studio discussion on how expert computers will affect our lives.
