Archaeological Dating: Retracing Time

Synopsis
Discusses two approaches to determining the age of an archaeological site, relating to other sites. Introduces methods of dating artifacts absolutely, including tree-ring dating (dendrochronology), archeomagnetic dating, obsidian hydration dating and radiocarbon dating. Before finishing with a description of the abuse of archaeological sites by treasure hunters, there is a demonstration of how the study of relics can help us to understand the nature of life in early cultures.*
