- Uses examples from various insect orders to show the basic design of a hard outer skeleton, jointed legs and specialised mouthparts serves a wealth of different lifestyles. Contrasts the life histories of insects which show a complete metamorphosis between larva and adult (e.g. butterflies) with those that do not (e.g. bush crickets). Shows examples of camouflage and mimicry.
