In the Making: The Calligrapher

Synopsis
Calligrapher Anne Hechler talks about the pleasures of using writing as an expressive medium and of triying to match the style to the content of a phrase or poem. She is seen at work in her house in Bath with some of the scenes and objects that inspire her and is shown making quills, grinding Chinese stick ink, illuminating letters and writing. She also cuts out the vellum that she uses to write on. Poems are read by Elizabeth Bell.
