Synopsis
Discusses dentists’ responsibilities in relation to premalignancy and malignancy of the oral mucosa. Early diagnosis of oral cancer can make a vital difference to the patient’s future treatment. Looks at pre-malignancy and malignancy of the oral muscosa, teaching what to look for and examination techniques; what happens at referral; how to treat the patient before, during and after treatment; forms of help available for patients and care for the terminally ill; the dentist’s responsibility.
