Ice Mummies (3 Parts)

Synopsis
1 (producer Andrew Thompson): In Siberia in 1993 archaeologists found the body of a young woman whose flesh, clothes and possessions were preserved by the permafrost. From her frozen body are emerging clues to the people who once roamed the Russian steppes.
2 (producer Tim Haines): In 1991 a perfectly perserved Stone Age man was found frozen to the rock in a high Alpine pass, complete with the tools of his everyday life. Examines what this 5000-year-old body has revealed to science since its discovery.
3 (producer Tim Haines): Evidence of an Inca ceremony involving the sacrifice of children was confirmed when archaeologists began finding beautifully dressed children with golden offerings buried high up in the Andes. Looks at the problems of doing archaeology at 18,000 feet and at the discovery of a frozen human sacrifice.
