Human Body, The (Schools Version)

Synopsis
The original programmes provided a journey through the ‘seven ages of man’, exploring at each stage the physical workings of the body, using real people as illustrations, along with state-of-the art photography and medical imaging to show the workings of the body from the inside. This version is edited and tailored to the needs of Key Stages 2 and 3, and amplifies and clarifies sections of the series for a school audience, covering life proceses and humans as organisms, in a series of short sequences. These are topic-based with separate material for each Key Stage. All the sequences are indexed with comprehensive menus and a clock, so that segments can be found easily with the help of the accompanying teacher’s notes. Topics include cells, the eye, the ear, the skeleton and movement, the human life cycle, and growth and reproduction. Contains a new commentary with fuller explanation, extra graphics and additional footage e.g. pupils assembling a 3-D body jigsaw.
