Description
Taken for Granted: Flying. In this episode of his regular show Richard Robbins discusses the subject of aircraft and air travel. He asks, are we safe in planes, how do they work, and how are they built? He speaks to BA’s flight technical manager about the evolution of aircraft, training of pilots, and their standards. Terrorism is another issue discussed, and the threat and countermeasures are explored. Robbins talks to Don Craig, Chief Engineer of London Airport, on the problems planes face, plane maintenance, the complexity of the engines, and the checks planes must be submitted to.
